- This summer did you complete an internship, undertake research, study abroad, or participate in another activity eligible for LBC points? Be sure to write your reports before you get too busy.

The Study Abroad Office is now accepting applications for spring and summer 2022. The application deadline for spring semester study abroad is September 15.
The Study Abroad Office offers online scheduling for remote advising meetings. Students can fill out a brief survey on the Study Abroad website to request an appointment. Based on their interests, they will be matched with a Study Abroad advisor and invited through BoilerConnect to schedule a phone or video call. Click Here |

 | Explore the University of Bath. The University of Bath is consistently ranked amongst the top UK universities. College of Science students have successfully and enthusiastically studied there for decades. The university is set amongst green fields overlooking the historic city of Bath a mile away.
The city of Bath is located approximately 90 minutes by train southwest of London. It is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and has received World Heritage status from UNESCO. For more than 2000 years Bath has been famous for its natural hot springs. The Romans first developed the site when they built a complex of baths and a temple to the goddess Minerva. In the 18th century many of the city's buildings were constructed; this Georgian architecture gives Bath its distinctive appearance and historical feel. The city is rich in museums and sites of interest and has many parks, gardens, and green spaces.

The Women In Science Program (WISP) is excited to welcome our cohort of 200 upper-class and first-year students who identify as women, non-binary and male advocates this year! Together, we will learn, teach, grow, network, and have a blast!
For over twenty years, WISP has been striving to offer support and a sense of belonging while addressing issues of isolation in the male dominated field of STEM. Additionally, WISP promotes the development of personal and professional identities, facilitates networking and connections and aids in persistence towards earning an undergraduate degree in science from Purdue University.
The WISP Learning Community of 100 first year students:- builds
a supportive community of students interested in science, allowing for
the formation of natural study groups, and eliminating the isolation
first-year female students may face.
- partners each first-year student with an upper-class mentor enrolled in the College of Science.
- holds monthly programs which address topics of interest in science and life skills and allow for networking among students, staff, faculty and invited guests from academia, alumnae, and industry.
- sponsors a tutoring program, together with the College of Engineering, for all students enrolled in first year courses, where Honors science tutors serve as models of persistence.

September 2 - Undergrad Research 101: Where to Begin - Undergrads interested in getting started in research will learn what researchers are seeking, how they can approach potential research mentors, and what they need to do to prepare.
September 16 - Marketing Yourself: Undergrad Research - Whether you are looking for a research position or are a current researcher, learn how to market yourself to potential research mentors and/or employers. This session will highlight resumes, CVs and emails with some online marketing option.

Course Information:
GS19501/ILS180 - Preparing for your undergraduate research experience: This course is for prospective Purdue undergraduate researchers who are interested in conducting undergraduate research or creative endeavors.
GS29501/ILS280 - Understanding your undergraduate research experience I : This course is for current Purdue undergraduate researchers to hone skills necessary for successfully reflecting on and completing the experience.
GS39501/ILS380 - Understanding your undergraduate Research Experience II: This course is for current Purdue undergraduate researchers to build upon the previous course and focus on research data collection, analysis, and communication for current Purdue undergraduate researchers.
GS49501/ILS480 - Beyond Undergraduate Research: This course is for any student to focus on continuing their education in graduate or professional school.

The National Institute of Statistical Sciences is proud to sponsor the INTERNATIONAL TOTAL SURVEY ERROR WORKSHOP (ITSEW) 2021, themed Total Survey Error in the Age of COVID-19. After a hiatus in 2020, ITSEW returns this year as a series of three virtual weekly seminars with the goal to promote discussion of questions of research, methodology and practice relating to Total Survey Error (TSE) and Total Survey Quality. Each session will be comprised of relatively short presentations and catalyzing discussion by a designated discussant, followed by floor discussion among all participants.
